FACULTY AND STAFF INSTITUTES
University faculty and staff are welcomed back each semester with the Faculty and Staff Institute (Fall, Winter, Spring).
The institutes consist of updates from the Chancellor, division heads, and various
campus leaders in additional to professional development offerings.
Academic Affairs Faculty and Staff Appreciation and Recognition Awards Ceremony
PURPOSE
To recognize and support outstanding faculty members, including adjunct faculty, The
Division of Academic Affairs offers awards that recognize faculty achievements in
the areas of Teaching Excellence, Academic Research, Faculty-Student Engagement, the
Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (research and active engagement in the Center
for Teaching & Learning), Outstanding Service, Grantsmanship, and a student determined
award- The Guiding Star Award. Deans and Department Chairs will provide faculty within
their department with the nomination forms and criteria for the awards. If you need

OBJECTIVES
- Publicly reward exceptional performance in Teaching, Service, Student Engagement, Professional Development, Grantsmanship, and Research at ECSU.
- Increase morale and sense of pride in faculty and staff within the Division of Academic Affairs at ECSU.
- Increase communication of the values and expectations within Academic Affairs (attributes that Academic Affairs values such as a strong commitment to students as demonstrated through superior academic advising strategies, community service, faculty professional development, etc.).
- Highlight the accomplishments of faculty in various aspects of their work in higher education.
