Elizabeth City, N.C. — Some of the familiar faces who make up northeastern North Carolina will take center stage Nov. 15 at Elizabeth City State University’s (ECSU) upcoming Community Connections Performance and Lecture Series. The United Women & Men of Praise, a locally rooted ensemble led by regionally acclaimed director Felicia Cooper Reid, will offer a free musical performance honoring those who serve. Beginning at 3 p.m. in the Floyd L. Robinson Auditorium at the Mickey L. Burnim Fine Arts Center, the performance will celebrate the power of praise to uplift, inspire and bring people together.
The presentation will use gospel music to recognize the dedication of individuals whose work and commitment make a difference in others’ lives. It also gives attendees an opportunity to pause and share in an experience rooted in encouragement and culture.
Under Reid’s direction, the ensemble will present “Lifting the Spirits of Those Who Serve.” The performance continues ECSU’s Community Connections series mission to bring people together through the arts and meaningful cultural experiences.
Guests are invited to enjoy an afternoon of songs and fellowship with family, friends and neighbors.
ECSU’s Community Connections Performance and Lecture Series brings engaging artists, performers, speakers and experiences to campus and the surrounding community, and is sponsored and supported by a combination of ECSU student fees and a private donation from Mrs. Phyllis Bosomworth, a former member of the ECSU Board of Trustees.
