Campus Safety

A safe place to learn.

You deserve to feel safe and supported while on campus. That’s why we create and share resources, alert systems, and incident reporting tools for campus. Your well-being will always be our top priority.

Campus Safety Resources

Effective communication can save lives when emergencies happen. In the event of an emergency, ECSU strives to provide quick and accurate communication to students, faculty, staff, and guests through the use of ECSU Alert and emergency procedures. We can notify you via text message, email notification, and alerts on the front www.ECSU.edu webpage.

Sign up to receive text messages notification on your cellphone by entering your cell phone number into your Self Service Banner as your primary contact number.

You can also contact the Office of Emergency Management at (252) 335-4607 for additional assistance.

Report an incident

Crime, harassment, sexual misconduct, and other behavior that threatens student safety or well-being has no place on campus. Report any incidents and we’ll do everything we can to help.

Response to Sexual Misconduct

If you are in immediate danger, call 911, or ECSU’s Office of Public Safety 252-335-3266. Campus police will listen to your report and provide direct support, as needed. You will not be required to prosecute after reporting.

If you are not in immediate danger, please contact one of the following staff members with your report. Supporting victims is our top priority throughout the reporting, investigation, and disciplinary process.
