Viking Advantage

ECSU and the College of The Albemarle have partnered together to give you a Viking Advantage – ensuring a seamless transition from COA to ECSU upon completion of your credential.

Requirements:

Students must be a high school junior or senior enrolled in a Career and College Promise Program or be in their first year of community college enrollment and/or have less than 24 completed transfer hours before applying for the Viking Advantage Program.
Students must complete the ‘Intent to Enroll form’ through ECSU and then an application for admission during the final semester at COA.
Students should be verified as eligible for the program by a representative at their community college.
Students must complete an associate of arts, an associate of science, an associate in arts in teacher preparation, an associate in science in teacher preparation, an associate of fine arts, or an associate in applied science degree program in which ECSU and COA have an established bilateral agreement
Students must maintain at least a 2.0 cumulative GPA
Prior to registering for ECSU classes, students must meet admissions requirements as stated in the ECSU Undergraduate Catalog.

Student Benefits:

Guaranteed ECSU admission* upon completion of an associate of associate of arts, an associate of science, an associate in arts in teacher preparation, an associate in science in teacher preparation, an associate of fine arts degree or an associate in applied science degree program in which ECSU and COA have an established bilateral agreement.
Waived ECSU application fee ($30)
Onsite/virtual meetings with the ECSU Transfer Admission Counselor per semester
One ECSU Day onsite at COA per semester

Students participating in the Viking Advantage Program will have access to:

Free attendance at a variety of ECSU events
Access to the ECSU Library
Exclusive scholarship opportunities for COA students participating in the Viking Advantage Program.
