Elizabeth City, N.C. — No runway. No script. No television screen. Just Eva. Actress, model and television personality Eva Marcille is coming to Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) Oct. 15 for an up-close conversation with students and the community at 7 p.m. in the Floyd L. Robinson Auditorium inside the Mickey L. Burnim Fine Arts Center. The free event is part of ECSU’s Community Connections Performance and Lecture Series.
Marcille has plenty to talk about.
She first captured national attention as the winner of Cycle 3 of “America’s Next Top Model” before expanding her career across modeling, scripted television and reality TV. Her credits include “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” “The Young and the Restless,” “Tyler Perry’s House of Payne” and other television and film projects. Today, Marcille leads the cast of “All the Queen’s Men” as Marilyn “Madam” DeVille, the powerful and protective owner of Atlanta’s fictional Club Eden. The Tyler Perry-executive-produced drama is currently in its fifth and final season, with Marcille at the center of the cast.
This fall, however, Marcille is adding another role to her résumé: ECSU Student Engagement & Success Ambassador-in-Residence. Throughout the academic year, Marcille is engaging ECSU students with fireside chats and modeling master classes. These mentorship, career development and empowerment sessions are designed to build students’ confidence, sharpen their professional skills and prepare them for life beyond the classroom. Marcille’s ambassador role brings her star power directly into the student experience and off the screen.
And Oct. 15, there will be no script.
“A Conversation with Eva Marcille” creates an opportunity for attendees to hear her in a different setting—live, candid and in conversation. The evening is designed not just to showcase a popular face, but to create a connection between Marcille, ECSU students and the Elizabeth City community.
ECSU’s Community Connections Performance and Lecture Series brings engaging artists, performers, speakers and experiences to campus and the surrounding community, and is sponsored and supported by a combination of ECSU student fees and a private donation from Mrs. Phyllis Bosomworth, a former member of the ECSU Board of Trustees.
