Enhancing Digital Learning Infrastructure to Develop Quality Online Programs and Services
This activity will support technology infrastructure enhancements and equipment upgrades to ensure the university can develop online degrees and increase enrollment. The desired goal is to increase retention rates by 10% and graduation rates by 10% by the end of the performance period in 2025. The funds will support upgrades to classroom and lab spaces in technology and supplies for student hands-on training. Virtual labs and classrooms will ensure students can complete their degree totally online. To stay competitive with other universities in the region and globally, the Institution’s goal has been to increase the number of online students by 20% and the number of fully approved online degrees to seven (7) during the performance period.
LAA(s): (1) Purchase, rental, or lease of scientific or laboratory equipment for educational purposes, including instructional and research purposes.
(4) Academic instruction in disciplines in which Black Americans are underrepresented.
Improving Academic Facilities to Promote Student Success
The activity focuses on how to best utilize our strengths to serve our students in providing access to state-of-the-art technology, resources, and professional development for use of the technology. Upgrades to the library, classrooms, labs, and other educational buildings will provide support needed for students to achieve success and graduate with skills to compete in the global job market. The ultimate goal is to increase student retention rate to 75% for freshman to sophomore class and monitoring their progression throughout their educational experience. The university will upgrade technology and equipment to create collaborative study areas for all students and disciplines. Virtual labs will be established to ensure every student, regardless of the type of instruction delivery, can access the resources and complete assignments. The upgrades will allow for creation of additional online classes, labs for degree completion.
LAA(s): (2) Construction, maintenance, renovation, and improvement in classroom, library, laboratory, and other instructional facilities, including purchase or rental of telecommunications technology equipment or services.
Ensuring Sound and Efficient University Operations to Enhance Customer Service
This activity will provide technology upgrades for Faculty, Staff and Students, ensuring proper tools are accessible for student services. Funds will enhance instruction for a student-centered environment in Health Services to ensure our students have a safe experience on campus.
