Elizabeth City State University is the home of both a radio station (WRVS-FM) and television station (W18BB-DTV). WRVS-FM is the listener-supported, 41,000-watt powerhouse, public radio service of ECSU. WRVS has served northeastern North Carolina and Hampton Roads with NPR news, sports, gospel, jazz and urban music for over 38 years. W18BB-DTV is Elizabeth City State University's low power digital television (LP-DTV) station carried on closed-circuit Channel 18 on the campus of ECSU and broadcasted on Spectrum Cable Channel 20.
