Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) officials are closely monitoring the winter weather event expected to impact Elizabeth City and surrounding areas.
ECSU will operate under Condition 1 (reduced operations) of the Adverse Weather Policy starting Tuesday, January 21, 2025, at 2:30 pm through Wednesday, January 22, 2025. Condition 1 is appropriate when an event has significant potential to or is already negatively impacting local area commuting, important campus services, or the efficient functioning of campus buildings and grounds. Staff meetings will continue to be held. However, it is important to add Zoom or Microsoft Teams options as needed.
Essential Employees: Will be required to report to work onsite unless otherwise advised by management.
Non-Essential Employees: Will be required to report to work remotely unless otherwise advised by management.
Employees may also work remotely with supervisor's approval. For any work time missed, employees must use leave time per leave-keeping policies. For your convenience, we have provided below a copy of the Adverse Weather Policy. (Adverse Weather Policy)
Students and Faculty
- All in-person classes for Tuesday, January 21, 2025, have been suspended starting at 2:30 p.m.
- All in-person classes for Wednesday, January 22, 2025, should be moved to online instruction or respective faculty members should identify an alternative equivalent learning experience to replace missed class time.
- Information regarding shuttle transportation services will be sent out via the Office of Housing and Residence Life.
- Bedell Hall will be operating on its normal schedule today, Tuesday, January 21, 2025, and will close at 8:00 p.m. Retail dining locations (TLC, Viking Grill, and Greens To Go) will remain open until 9:00 p.m. tonight. Please refer to the table below for updated hours of operation for tomorrow, Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
