Elizabeth City, N.C. — Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) and College of The Albemarle (COA) have formalized an articulation agreement to provide a seamless educational pathway for students pursuing careers in criminal justice. The agreement was signed yesterday at 3 p.m. during a ceremony at COA.
This partnership enables graduates of COA's Associate in Applied Science in Criminal Justice Technology program to transfer directly into ECSU's Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice program as a junior.
"This agreement is a significant step in ensuring that our students have the opportunity to transform their tomorrows," said Dr. Jack Bagwell, COA President. "By collaborating with ECSU, we are not only providing a robust pathway for academic advancement but also contributing to the development of skilled professionals who will make a positive impact on our communities."
Interim Chancellor of ECSU, Dr. Catherine Edmonds, shared, "Elizabeth City State University is proud to partner with College of The Albemarle in offering this seamless educational pathway. Together, we empower students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed. This partnership demonstrates our shared commitment to fostering educational excellence and community growth."
Under the agreement, COA students will benefit from a curriculum that aligns with ECSU's program, ensuring a smooth transition and continuity in their education. This initiative reflects both institutions' dedication to student success and regional workforce development.
