Elizabeth City, NC – Elizabeth City State University (ECSU) announces the appointment of Barry McCauley Jr. as the assistant vice chancellor for Corporate and Foundation Relations. McCauley, a seasoned leader with over 15 years of experience in institutional advancement, corporate relations and strategic fundraising, is poised to bring transformational impact to the university’s mission. 

McCauley’s career highlights include serving as vice president of Institutional Advancement at Barber-Scotia College, where he led initiatives that significantly enhanced donor engagement and institutional visibility. Under his leadership, alumni giving increased by 30%, and strategic partnerships with organizations such as the Charlotte Hornets, Truist Bank and Wells Fargo resulted in substantial revenue generation.  

Kevin Wade, vice chancellor for Student Affairs and interim vice chancellor for University Advancement, added, “Barry’s ability to align institutional needs with corporate goals is exceptional. His passion for creating meaningful collaborations and his results-driven mindset will transform how ECSU engages with its stakeholders. During his tenure as executive vice president at Perkins Management Services Company, McCauley developed and strengthened long-term partnerships with HBCUs nationwide. His strategic alliances contributed to raising over $25 million for HBCUs, demonstrating his ability to align corporate objectives with institutional goals for mutual benefit.
