By 2030, Elizabeth City State University, in partnership with local and regional communities, will enrich the campus experience by attracting and developing top talent, fostering belonging, and amplifying the university’s stature. We will exemplify service and invest in safe spaces, opportunities, and a vibrant culture that support academic excellence, employee growth, and a thriving environment for all.
By 2030, ECSU will increase faculty, staff, and student satisfaction with the campus experience by 10%, as measured by annual climate and satisfaction surveys.

- Implement professional development, mentorship, and workload management programs to improve faculty and staff well-being
- Launch a recognition and reward system aligned with performance and service milestones
- Provide customer experience training and inclusive excellence workshops for all personnel.
- Develop housing and residence support solutions that strengthen ECSU’s ability to recruit and retain high-quality faculty and staff.
By 2030, ECSU will complete 100% of projects identified in the 2021 Master Facilities Plan and respond to 95% of facility and maintenance requests within 48 hours.

By 2030, increase the percentage of students living in university-managed housing
with
modernized amenities by 30%.
