CHANCELLOR SEARCH INFORMATION
University of North Carolina System President Peter Hans and Elizabeth City State University Board of Trustees Chair Stephanie Johnson announced the launch of the search for ECSU’s next chancellor on December 11, 2024. The 13-member search advisory committee is composed of representatives of the trustees, ECSU faculty, staff, students, and alumni, UNC Board of Governors representatives, and North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University Chancellor Emeritus Harold Martin.
ECSU will post announcements on public input and processes on this website and via the normal channels, to include social media.
February 6, 2025 - Chancellor Leadership Profile Available and Applications Being Accepted
The Chancellor Search Advisory Committee (SAC) is pleased to announce the publication of the Chancellor Leadership Profile. Input from the faculty, staff, students, alumni, and the Elizabeth City community, via the listening sessions and the online survey, was most valuable in informing the committee on points of pride and desired leadership characteristics. Dr. Stephanie Johnson ’74, chair of the ECSU Board of Trustees and chair of the ECSU Chancellor Search Advisory Committee, invites the ECSU community to provide the committee with insight on the leadership traits and values it would like to have in the next chancellor. The committee welcomes the thoughts and input of the ECSU and Elizabeth City communities and stakeholders, via this link, no later than January 30, 2025.
Additionally, the Search Advisory Committee will offer other opportunities for stakeholders to provide input on the process. We will announce dates for future listening sessions with various campus and community groups as soon as the dates and locations are finalized. The specific January dates, times, and locations will be sent out via ECSU communications, and posted on ECSU social media accounts and this website.
