Upward Bound
Elizabeth City State University Upward Bound Program is designed to generate in program participants the skills and motivation necessary to complete a program of secondary education and to enter and succeed in a program of post-secondary education.
Eligibility Requirements
Students must meet the following requirements set by the U.S. Department of Education to receive services provided by the TRIO Upward Bound Program:
- Enrolled in grades 9-12
- A United States citizen or legal resident
- Potential first-generation college student
- Meet income guidelines, established by the U.S. Department of Education
- Have the potential to succeed in high school and college
- Have a need for academic support and guidance to successfully pursue a post-secondary educational program

- Washington County High School

Instruction and Tutoring in:

- Science/Science Lab

- Virtual Tutorial Assistance
- 6 Weeks Summer Program
- Work-Study/Internship/Project with (Stipend amount will vary)
- Summer Bridge Program
- Educational and Enrichment Tours/Trips
- Mentoring
- College and Career Counseling
- Pre-College Seminars and Workshops
- SAT and ACT Fee Waivers
- Computer Science/Stem Courses & Projects
