Program Overview

The Special Education (K–12) program at Elizabeth City State University prepares future educators to work with diverse learners across elementary, middle, and high school settings. As part of the Educator Preparation Program (EPP), students are guided through a comprehensive curriculum designed to meet North Carolina licensure requirements.

This program focuses on equipping students with the knowledge, skills, and professional dispositions needed to support individuals with exceptionalities. Through a combination of theory, field experience, and clinical practice, graduates are prepared to create inclusive learning environments that help every student succeed.
