Prepare to teach, nurture, and lead children from birth through kindergarten during the most critical stage of development.
Program Overview
The Birth–Kindergarten (B-K) program at Elizabeth City State University prepares future educators to make a lasting impact during the most formative years of a child’s life. As part of the Educator Preparation Program (EPP), students are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and hands-on experience needed to support young learners from infancy through age five.
This program emphasizes child development, family engagement, and developmentally appropriate teaching practices. Students graduate prepared for North Carolina teaching licensure and ready to create meaningful learning environments that foster growth across cognitive, social, emotional, and physical domains.
